Guest reviews for this experience

  • Superb discoveries and meetings about organic wines

Our arrival at the conveniently located hotel was very pleasant, allowing us to stroll around the charming town of Pau. We had a chance to wander around before arriving at the 4 Pépins wine cellar, run by people who are passionate about organic wines bottled in small plots. Over 700 to choose from... they offer excellent advice, guiding us towards 2 choices served in small doses, before making a final choice. The delicious nectars are accompanied by a board of excellent local charcuterie and, above all, sublime cheeses. We fell for the homemade chocolate mousse accompanied by a Merlot. A real treat. The next day, we headed for Gan, 15-20 min from the hotel, to be welcomed by Irène, who took us on a very enjoyable escape game! We then took an aperitif stroll through the vineyards and played a game of pétanque, before sitting down to a table overlooking the Pyrenees and the vines. Irene introduced us to wild fennel and her 2 driest white wines, all with an open-minded hostess who loves her terroir (not just the vines!), which she defends tooth and nail. A lesson in tenacity and intelligence. This stay has been nothing but delicious discoveries and above all fabulous encounters! Thank you, we'll do it again, and please share!

  • Excellent weekend.

We had a great weekend. The organization was excellent, from arrival at the hotel, through the tasting evening, to the discovery of the Latapy estate. Everything was perfect. The choice of speakers was good, with friendly people involved in preserving the terroir. A special mention for the owner of the estate, who transmits passion, simplicity and authenticity.

  • Pau and Latapy estate

Pau surprised us with its authenticity and architectural finesse. The tasting at Les 4 PEPINS was an enriching experience, with friendly, meticulous staff. The next day, we enjoyed the escape-game at Domaine Latapy! The game was well organized and not at all obvious! The welcome was top-notch, and we felt as if we were among friends. The meal was super-fresh, seasonal and homemade, accompanied by a tasting of two really interesting Jurançon wines. Irène and her colleagues are actively committed to preserving their principles of environmentally-friendly agriculture in true symbiosis with nature. At Latapy, the organic label is not just a fiction; it's obvious and essential.

  • Jurançon tasting

Apart from the hotel breakfast, which was a little too classic for a 4-star hotel, the welcome and tastings at the "4 pépins" wine bar and at Domaine Latapie were perfect.

  • Great weekend!

We had a great time during our stay: the hotel is well located for exploring the center of Pau, the 4 Pépins produce is excellent, and Domaine Latapy offers a warm welcome. A stay to be recommended!

  • A great weekend

Flawless organization: tourist brochures in the room courtesy of the tourist office, a very pleasant wine cellar run by real professionals and a friendly meeting with a winemaker who not only makes you appreciate her wine but also shares her passion for her profession. Many thanks to everyone who made this weekend so special.

  • A beautiful discovery

Very pleasant hotel, professional and warm welcome at both reception and breakfast. Smiling, attentive staff. The '4 pépins' wine cellar is a must-see. With their knowledge of wines and vineyards, they will help you make the right choice and talk passionately about their products. Fabulous wine tasting with a perfect charcuterie-cheese pairing. Domaine Latapie is the place to be if you want to talk to a passionate winemaker. Very tasty meal and very well thought-out and fun escape game. Don't worry, even if you're lost, we'll help you find your way. An enriching and original visit. Pau is a city to discover. A great weekend. Thanks to all.
