Guest reviews for this experience

  • stay in Touraine

this stay in Touraine was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. A warm welcome at every stop, excellent cuisine and refined dishes at the Auberge du Bon Laboureur. The Chateau de Chissay is in an enchanting setting, but it's a shame that the toilet door can't be closed, given the cramped conditions! ..... As for the visit to the cellars, with explanations and various tastings, it was fascinating and enriching.

  • Stay at Chissay Castle in Touraine

We stayed 2 nights at Château de Chissay, a château of impressive proportions in a magnificent setting. The staff are very attentive and pleasant. The room was very large, but the bathroom was a little outdated and in need of renovation. Superb breakfast in the morning with homemade products (apple, lemon, orange, chocolate cakes, etc.), and a very good menu in the evening with careful presentation. Dinner on the 2nd evening at the auberge du bon laboureur with a very good discovery menu, quality presentation, served by an attentive team. 2 cellar visits were on the program, very different and therefore complementary: - Maison Bredif near Vouvray, with troglodyte cellars and very old bottles - Les caves du père Auguste, near Chenonceaux, with its touching family history. Great discoveries and interesting purchases. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

  • Wonderful stay

This trip was offered to my dad for his 80th birthday, and they were delighted with this magnificent stay, which began with a hot-air balloon flight that was an unforgettable experience. The flight over the Château de Chenonceau and its surroundings was absolutely magnificent, at sunrise with the mist. Meal at the pleasant La Part Belle restaurant, followed by a visit to the Château Gaudrelle cellar with wine tasting, very well explained by the young lady. Afterwards, we were welcomed at Château de Chissay, a very pretty setting, the only downside being that the room was a little sad and lacking in decoration, and was located in the old stables rather than in the château. Superb breakfast the next morning, very wide choice, visit to Chenonceaux castle, then top-of-the-range lunch at the auberge du bon laboureur, a 1-star restaurant with a very refined menu. Finally, a visit to the caves du père Auguste, a beautiful setting and very interesting explanations during the tasting. They recommend this stay, which they enjoyed immensely, with unforgettable memories and a wonderful, relaxing time together!

  • We recommend this trip

My partner dreamed of doing a tasting. This romantic weekend did not disappoint. Super restaurant with a focus on local produce, very well seasoned. Excellent! As for the château, the only drawbacks were the lack of TV in the rooms and the dilapidated bathrooms (which made us laugh and was not surprising for a château). Very good gourmet dinner and very friendly staff. Two excellent wine tastings. We recommend this trip.

  • Touraine white wines

A birthday gift package that begins with lunch at the "La part belle" restaurant. The welcome is warm and the meal of high quality, with seasonal produce (the chef even has her own little herb garden on site!). Next, an interesting visit to the cellars of Château de Gaudrelle, after which the young woman who welcomed us offered us a tasting session based on our preferences (white wines only). On to the Château de Chissay, for a gourmet dinner and overnight stay in impressive surroundings. The meal lived up to our expectations (a wine and food pairing is available at extra cost). Note that there's a swimming pool at the château... The next day, a copious and well-stocked buffet breakfast, on the terrace or inside. Then a visit to Père Auguste's cellar. A friendly welcome, a history of the family estate and a tasting session with comments on the characteristics of the different wines on offer (whites and reds). This gift is a great opportunity to extend your stay by discovering the many treasures in the surrounding area (Festival des Jardins de Chaumont sur Loire, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Clos Lucé, etc.).

  • Delighted with this weekend

Following a reservation made by a family member for my birthday, I headed to Touraine for this epic journey. It all began with lunch in a small restaurant called "la part belle", which was very nice and welcoming. This was followed by a visit to the cellar at Château de Gaudrelle, with an excellent presentation and tasting, thanks Diane. Château de Chissay is worth its weight in gold, very pretty and welcoming. The only drawbacks were a light bulb that didn't work in the bathroom and a long wait for dinner. But even if it was a little long, the dinner was very good. The breakfast was very copious and the visit to the cellars of Père Auguste was very friendly and family-oriented. I highly recommend it.

  • An excellent weekend

Excellent weekend in Touraine thanks to VinoTrip. A very warm welcome at every stage, and all the services were of a very high standard. I intend to repeat the experience in another region as soon as possible.

  • A beautiful gift

Quality lunch at Joseph's table. Simple but warm welcome and tasty dishes. Exciting visit to the Château Gaudrelle vineyard and tasting of excellent Vouvray wines. Dinner and overnight stay at Château de Chissay in an exceptional setting. Visit to Père Auguste's cellar. Tasting of a wide range of wines, but only the rosé seduced us. Lunch at the Auberge du bon Laboureur in Panonceau. Refined cuisine and quality surroundings. Private hot-air balloon flight with Art Mongolfière. We don't really take off from the gardens of the Château de Chenonceau. We had a superb sunrise takeoff, but unfortunately the lack of wind meant we had to "stay put". We'd have liked to do a longer run, but you can't control the weather! A great gift overall.

  • Impressions of our trip to TOURAINE With the sweet name "ROMANCE

Stay Gift from our son for two people from 16 to 17 October 2015 - LUNCH at the RESTAURANT l'EMBARCADERE. This Restaurant was to honor the products of the soil and greed. This meal made us "Navigate smoothly". - PRIVATE VISIT to CHATEAU GAUDRELLE. Our guide, a true pedagogue and lover of vines, explained the different types of soil (fossil or limestone), the orientation of the vines and the influence of the sea breezes that give the wines their Lives and Appellations. As an experienced oenologist, our guide explained vinification, appellations, vintages and storage in the cellars where VOUVRAY's sparkling wines age and assert themselves for our gustatory pleasure. A visit full of charm that left us "enthralled". - OUR STAY at CHATEAU de CHISSAY. For one night, we briefly realized that we were not guests, but the personalities... (PRINCIERES) of this residence. And it was in a sumptuous setting that we were received. Chef Lénaïc HUARD's menu, served by his brigade, was a feast for the eyes and our taste buds... Personally, I had the privilege of posing for a souvenir photo with Chef Lénaïc HUARD. These brief moments spent at the CHATEAU will remain highlights of our trip to TOURAINE. - Les CAVES du PERE AUGUSTE. A very warm welcome from the siblings, and it was one of the grandsons who gave us the history of the estate, highlighting the obstinacy, self-sacrifice and honor of passing on to his descendants the fruit of the courage required to earn the title of winegrower. Father Auguste, your image captivated us. - L'AUBERGE du BON LABOUREUR. This gastronomic restaurant richly deserves its Michelin star, because in addition to the discoveries and the pleasures of the table... The Menu served to us was as succulent as you could wish for. A meal of REAL GOURMANDISES. -In conclusion: "YES, VOUVRAY is UNIQUE, as is the originality of the WINE TRAVEL, which we fully APPRECIATED". BOURGES October 28, 2015 Paulette and Serge BRISSET

  • A wonderful discovery of Touraine

We are satisfied with the stay with the following comments: - Restaurant l'Embarcadère on Friday lunchtime: Correct catering (quality of dishes) - Very good for the visit to the Château de Gaudrelle cellar on Saturday afternoon. Excellent visit, quality comments, visit to be recommended. - Very good also at Chateau de Chissay for dinner and overnight stay Friday to Saturday. - The visit to Père Auguste was different from the visit to the Château de Gaudrelle cellar. Cellar visit and varied tasting. This visit was very different from the previous one, and gave us the opportunity to taste red wine that Château de Gaudrelle didn't have. Great availability for tasting, we tested and retested and took bottles. - Excellent lunch at the Auberge du Bon Laboureur on Saturday. A very pleasant weekend!
