Philippe and Laurence Girardon will welcome you to a peaceful haven that is situated in a three-hectare wooded park that is home to three-hundred-year-old trees. The Domaine de Clairefontaine also features three hotels and two restaurants, just outside the small village of Chonas l’Amballan. This grand and authentic family home has been tastefully restored and offers Michelin-starred gourmet cuisine, led by the award-winning chef, Philippe Girardon.

The luxurious bedrooms of their four-star property, Les Jardins, offer a breathtaking view over a pond where swans swim against a stunning green backdrop. This four-star property was converted from the former stables of the Domaine de Clairefontaine in the style of a traditional nut barn in the Dauphiné region. Light colours, lime-washed furniture, hand-stitched quilts and linen curtains make each luxurious and cosy room into a delightful, peaceful haven.

  • Superb weekend

    A very pleasant stay. Very nice meeting with Mr Boissonnet, a passionate winegrower with whom we spent most of the afternoon. The overnight stay and dinner at Domaine de Clairefontaine were magical. A beautiful place, warmly welcomed by all the staff. Excellent dinner, of course, with a Michelin star... Thank you for a wonderful time. We would have liked to have stayed an extra night... A good idea to consider as an option...

  • A stay on the côte rôtie

    Great stay, we enjoyed our whole weekend and will be going back with Vinotrip very soon. The meal at Domaine de Clairefontaine was sumptuous, thanks in particular to the sommelier who kept the dinner moving. On the first day, the wineries we visited were very attentive and answered all our questions. On the second day, we went for a hike in the vineyards, which was both sporty and scenic. The restaurant at lunchtime was also very enjoyable. We have nothing to complain about.
