History of the Domaine Manuel Olivier

Coming from a family of farmers, Manuel OLIVIER has followed an atypical path, starting with a few hectares of vines in 1990 while cultivating small fruits. For four generations, the members of the Olivier family have bent over Burgundian soil to grow vines.

Today he cultivates more than 12 hectares of Hautes Côtes de Nuits vineyard (Corboin-Nuits Saint Georges), as well as Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and the appellations of Côte “village”, 1er Cru and Grand Cru, in red or white wine (Morey Saint Denis, Aloxe-Corton, Chambolle-Musigny, Pommard, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne Romanée and Clos de Vougeot).

    There were only 2 of us, and we toured the winery and cellar with Laurent, an employee of the Manuel Olivier estate. He gave us lots of details, listened carefully to what we had to say, and made it all worthwhile! Then we went on to the tasting, where he also guided us. It was a great time, and many thanks to him! Then we went to the restaurant "La Beaune Heure", which was very good but not very lively, but it was still a nice evening. Finally, we stayed at La Maison Cabotte where we were very well received, the room was clean and the bedding very comfortable. All in all, we had a great weekend! :)

    We received this stay as a gift and were pleasantly surprised. It was easy to get a stay on the dates we wanted. Superb discovery at the Manuel Olivier estate with a most interesting tasting! Great welcome and stay at the chambre d'hôte La maison rouge, we'll be happy to go back! The dinner at Cheval Noir was also very pleasant, we enjoyed ourselves. In short, everything was great!

    Thanks to Vinotrip for the perfect organization of our Burgundy getaway. The tasting at Domaine de Manuel Olivier was great. Anouk's personality, knowledge and warm welcome really contributed to our success. She's a sunny person who makes us want to come back! (and we'll be back for a grape harvest weekend, thanks to her contagious good humor). Thanks again, it was great and the wines were top quality. You can feel the passion and that's what we like to find in this kind of tasting too.

    We had a magical time. Super tasting at the Manuel Olivier estate, excellent wines, lots of explanations. The guest room at La Maison Rouge is brilliant: a magnificent building full of charm, with a very pleasant theme combining authenticity and modernity. The host is charming and the breakfast excellent. We also dined very well at the Beaune Heure restaurant, with an excellent meal from starter to dessert. A little bonus: Beaune is a magnificent town!

    Excellent stay in Burgundy, with a visit to the Manuel Olivier estate hosted by William, who gave us a very good explanation of the different processes involved in making and preserving wine. Superb tasting after the visit. The room at the Maison Rouge was lovely, as was the breakfast. The restaurant La Beaune heure was great, and we were pleasantly surprised by the Burgundian shepherd's pie. Thanks to Vinotrip for the organization and all the partners :)

  • Burgundy vacations

    Very nice visit and tasting at the Manuel Olivier estate, explanations well adapted to the laymen that we are. We discovered the Maison Rouge and its owner: a great welcome and a hearty breakfast. Everything was pleasant, and we enjoyed chatting with our host. Les Terrasses de Corton (the restaurant) was not to be outdone: a superb Burgundian meal, and here too, the welcome and conversation were top-notch.

    The visit to the Manuel Olivier estate was interesting, with a tour of the vat room, followed by a friendly, well-explained tasting session. La Marelle guest house is very pleasant, with a very welcoming couple. Excellent breakfast. We enjoyed our meal on the terrace at the "Les Terrasses de Corton" restaurant. Good welcome and good quality. A successful and well-organized stay.

    A wonderful experience, a beautiful region and wonderful memories. The visit to the Manuel Olivier estate was super enriching, in terms of the welcome, the tour and the tasting. The stay in the guest house "La Marelle" was just wonderful! The place is just superb, the welcome warm, and the food and breakfast top-notch! Thanks to Aline and Thomas for their hospitality.     Visit to the Manuel Olivier estate, pleasant but a little short. Good tasting. Excellent overnight stay at the Maison Rouge: very spacious, tastefully decorated "Burgundy" room. Very comfortable bedding. Hearty breakfast with homemade jams. Lunch at La Gremelle restaurant very good and copious.

    Bravo et Merci night at the chambre d'hote "la maison rouge" lovely room, very friendly welcome, lovely cellar. very good meal at restaurant "la gremelle" very attentive welcome. A visit to the Manuel OLIVIER estate was a real surprise from every point of view. Generosity, a great tasting (2 hours with lots of explanations and sharing).     Olfactory-tasting tour of around 1h30 (tasting of regional wines of Bourgogne Aligoté, as well as Premier Cru and Grand Cru), approach to the terroirs and their understanding.
