Travellers' review - Château La Tour de Bessan

  • Very pleasant stay and warm welcome

From the very first phone call, I was very pleasantly advised. Our stay took place at the end of October, and we were lucky enough to be able to discover the area on our own. We started at Château Desmirail, where we visited the winery and received a great explanation of all the stages involved in vinification and maturation, then had the pleasure of tasting the estate's wines. We then ate in Margaux, where the meal was very good and the welcome just as good. We then headed for Château de la Tour de Bessan, where we discovered a modern estate. The person who gave us the tour then taught us how to taste a wine and, above all, we were made aware of blending, a wonderful discovery. In the evening, we dined and slept at Clos du Prince, a wonderful place with a warm welcome. Finally, the next day, we discovered the Château de Camarsac, where we were again warmly welcomed. The person in charge showed us around the vineyard and the work in the vines, and then we had a historical tour of the château with all its twists and turns. These 2 days were marvelous, rich in discoveries, the meals were all excellent, and above all we were received like "princes" everywhere. However, as we didn't have a GPS, it was difficult to find Château la Tour de Bessan and Clos du Prince. Either a better road sign, or an indication in the travel documents would be a plus. Thank you for the wonderful stay you planned for us.
