History and Wines of the Château Ambe Tour Pourret

In 2007, Françoise Lannoye felt under the spell of the Chateau Ambe Tour Pourret. A magnificent building, a courtyard shaded by a splendid chestnut, the good life at the entrance of Saint-Emilion, with a small vineyard in front of the castle: a great place to receive and share a passion for wine and gastronomy Bordeaux.
The courtyard of the Castle Tower Pourret Ambe opened his bar cheese. Enjoy a wine tasting around a cheese plate in the shade of the chestnut centenary.
Coast production, vineyard covers 5 hectares of vines. The vines are composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc on sandy soil and a clay subsoil.
The Chateau Ambe Tour Pourret choose to practice organic agriculture for greater respect for the land and the environment.

Travellers' review - Château Ambe Tour Pourret

  • two-day stay

very pleasant stay, arrival at the organic saffron farm, excellent welcome from a passionate couple, then arrival at our accommodation, high up in the mountains, by a young and dynamic team, only regret not having had time to visit the surrounding area, too short in time, everything was perfect in terms of catering, aperitif, dinner, breakfast, then departure for St-Emillion, collection of our bikes for the day, tour of the surrounding area, visit to château ambe tour pourret, wine and cheese tasting, excellent welcome from 2 young ladies, then appointment at château Soutard, but there was a staffing problem, the visit was delayed, we left disappointed, it's a shame such a large estate doesn't hire enough staff.... that's the only bad note of our stay, which was very pleasant.

  • stay naturally organic Bordeaux

Day 1: paradise at 8 m, very nice cabin, very good bedding, hearty dinner on a pulley with sunset as a bonus. Excellent breakfast. A little adrenalin on the way back down. A very friendly, welcoming and professional team. Day 2: We headed for Chateau Ambe Tour Pourret, where 2 charming, kind and smiling hostesses awaited us for lunch, with tastings of 3 wines. All very delicious. Excellent exchange. Bikes collected, we set off through the vineyards to Chateau Soutard for a guided tour and wine tasting. Discovery of some very good wines. Finally, a visit to the Safranière Artisanale in Ambarés la Grave. Two people passionate about the history of saffron are waiting to share their knowledge with you. A tasting of refined products delighted our taste buds, with these two friendly people. An unforgettable weekend, to be recommended.

  • Naturellment Bio stay in St Emilion: Formidable!

Day 1: - Visit to the organic farm Oh! Légumes Oubliés: the tasting of products was excellent and original. - Overnight at the Cabane de La Romaningue in the "Sauternes" cabin, perched 8 meters up on a two-hundred-year-old oak: magnificent, peaceful and relaxing. - Dinner in the cabin: the hot basket to be assembled using a pulley is very original and the meal delicious. Day 2: - Breakfast, still to be assembled using a pulley: copious and famous. - Visit to Saint-Emilion. - Lunch at Château Ambe Tour Pourret: cheese platter accompanied by 3 glasses of wine to taste the Château's products, delicious. - Blending workshop at Château Soutard with visit and tasting: great welcome and the workshop is a very good idea. - Visit to Château Fonplégade with tasting of 2 Pomerols and 2 St Emilions: top wines. The itinerary was different from the one advertised on your site, but all in all it was a win-win situation, and the 3 châteaux we visited in St Emilion were excellent choices (taste, welcome, importance of the properties). And the night we spent 8m up in the air will stay with us for a long time. Bravo VinoTrip!!!
