History of the Soutard Château
The Soutard Chateau is a 22-hectare estate that is classified as “Grand Cru” located near Saint-Emilion. It has been in operation since the 17th century.
It is currently managed by Mr Bertrand de Villaines, with the wine production section run by Ms Veronique Corporandy.
The façade of the building is from the 18th century whereas the sandstone wings, a typical feature of Bordeaux architecture, dates back to the 16th century.

The Chateau Soutard wines
The vineyards are located in the middle of a calcareous plateau in Saint Emilion. 70% of the grape variety is Merlot and 30% is Cabernet Franc. Soutard Chateau wines have a clear, crisp flavour and age extremely well. The vineyards are about 35 years old.

Chateau Soutard tours
The chateau started its wine tourism activities in 2011. It offers a thorough tour of the vineyards, as well as a unique experience of French culture and lifestyle in a Bordeaux chateau.
In 2014, the chateau received the National Award of wine-tourism in the “Judges Favourite” category.
