History of the Ferrand Château

The Ferrand Chateau has been an integral part of the Bordeaux wine history since the 17th century. One of its most remarkable attributes is that the chateau has remained within the same two families for 300 years, the present owners being the Baron Bich family.

The estate has its own unique charm, with a spectacular view over the Dordogne valley, elegant architecture and caves hewn out of stone that defy time as a tribute the “eternal glory of the Great King Louis XV”.

  • Wine tourism Stay

Great weekend with Mathieu and Julie at Château de la Grande Clotte. Very welcoming hosts, available, beautiful and very peaceful setting. Very pleasant visit to Château de Ferrand, very nice assembly workshop, but the gourmet board was too light.

  • Very pleasant stay

We stayed 2 nights at Château FLEUR DE ROQUES and received an excellent welcome from all the staff and especially from the owner, who took great care of us! Very nice, spacious and clean room, very good bedding. We ate the 2 evenings at the castle, the menu was super good that quality products and the price very reasonable. The breakfast was correct. We really enjoyed the visit to the underground cellar and the wine tasting! On Monday, we visited Château DE FERRAND, where we were given a very warm welcome and were given an excellent tour and explanations. We also took part in a wine-making workshop, which was great fun and very interesting.

  • Very pleasant and instructive stay

The stay was everything we'd hoped for: top-quality accommodation at Château Fleur de Roques, a morning of wine tasting and blending at Château de Ferrand led by a very welcoming and knowledgeable young winemaker, and a gourmet dinner at the Auberge St Jean, very fine and tasty. I recommend this type of stay. What's more, Saint Emilion is an exceptional village in terms of its heritage, and we particularly enjoyed visiting it!

  • Superb stay in the vineyards

We spent a very pleasant time at Château de la Rose Perrière, where we stayed for the weekend. The château staff gave us a warm welcome, the rooms were beautifully decorated, breakfast was excellent, and the setting was superb. The château's gardens are sublime and well-kept, surrounded by vineyards. We were treated to a guided tour of the vineyards and cellars, followed by an enjoyable tasting of the château's wines. We then visited Château de Ferrand, where we also enjoyed a guided tour, a fun and interesting blending workshop, and a much-appreciated tasting session. Finally, a free tour of Saint Emilion, a very pretty town. However, don't hesitate to wear good shoes, as the town is mainly cobbled, with some good ascents and descents, but it's still very pleasant to stroll through the streets, given the pretty setting. In conclusion, we'll be back with pleasure, it was a superb stay.

  • Stay Saint Emilion

Pleasant stay at Château Fleur de Roques with tasting and history of the château and vineyards. Room, meals and pool all top-notch, with attentive, highly professional staff. We were delighted by the visit and tasting at Château de Ferrand, led by our friendly sommelier, which was very enriching (we discovered the blending ourselves, an unforgettable experience). We also enjoyed a free day in St Emilion, with a guided tour of the monolithic church and the Tour du Roy, finishing with a gourmet meal at Le Tertre restaurant, which we recommend.

  • A magical stay in the Bordeaux vineyards

Very interesting and pleasant welcome and visit to the château de fleur de roques where we stayed for 2 days. The wine tasting was very pleasant. Our guide explained a lot of interesting things about their vineyard. Instructive assembly workshop at château de Ferrand and our guide was adorable and passionate. Dinner at the Auberge Saint Jean was absolutely delicious, and again a very warm welcome from the chef's wife and the sommelier. We were able to discover new flavors. A wonderful experience! The village of Saint Emilion is magnificent. A visit to the monolithic church and a wine tasting at the marchand de soif were a delightful discovery and a very warm welcome. In conclusion, a magical stay, almost a little too short. The region is splendid.

  • How we like it

We stayed at Château Fleur de Roque. The setting is magnificent and very peaceful. We were made very welcome. Air-conditioning and separate WC Likewise, the visit to Château de Ferrand was very interesting, the blending of wines and the kindness of the staff. The meal at Clos Mirande was perfect, combining wine and cheese with the gourmet menu proposed by the owner.

  • Beautiful stay

We were very well received at Château de la Rose Perrière. Magnificent setting. Personalized tour of the vineyards and cellars, with a much-appreciated tasting session. Very pleasant dinner at the Bistrot de la Gare. Visit, tasting/assembly at Château de Ferrand with Anna, a highly professional, delightful person. Soothing surroundings. We highly recommend these 2 châteaux.

  • Excellent weekend

We stayed at Château la Rose Perriere. The setting is magnificent, very calm. We were made very welcome. The visit to the château de Ferrand was also very interesting and we really enjoyed it. The meal at the Auberge Saint Jean was just perfect.

  • Great Stay

The stay in St Emilion was perfect, Anne's welcome at Château de Mole and the quality of the services, the visit and tasting at Château de Ferrand and the dinner at Domaine de Mirande, everything was in unison! We recommend without hesitation!

  • STAY SAINT-EMILION

A very warm welcome at Château de Mole, very nice room, excellent breakfast and interesting tour and tasting. The assembly workshop at Château de Ferrand is a must. Very warm welcome. The sommelier in charge of the workshop passed on her passion and explained the history of wine in simple terms. The workshop concluded with a tasting of quality products. Very warm welcome at the 2 selected restaurants. Our stay ended with a delicious meal at l'envers du Décor in Saint-Emilion.

  • Great stay

Anne made us very welcome at Château de Môle. Room impeccable and spacious, copious and varied breakfast. Very pleasant wine tasting with Anne. Excellent dinner with a great welcome at "l'Envers du décor" in StEmilion. Wonderful welcome at Château de Ferrand by Maria, who gave us a splendid tasting followed by a highly enjoyable blending workshop. The gastronomic meal at the Auberge St Jean was perfect: fine flavors, creativity... everything was there. All in all, a great stay that we'll be recommending to our friends and family. Thank you

  • Once upon a time

We were delighted with this stay, offered by friends and family for our wedding during the COVID. My husband and I had a wonderful time at Château de Ferrand. Everything was perfect from A to Z. We had a wonderful time and appreciated all the little touches. The staff are adorable and considerate. A magical place. Thank you and don't change a thing!

  • Very nice stay

A great welcome at the châteaux: Château de Môle thanks again to Anne for the service and the tasting of their wines, Château de Ferrand a warm welcome and a top demonstration that showed us how to assemble wine and a great tasting. I'd recommend it to my friends.

We spent a lovely sunny weekend at Château de Ferrand. From the welcome, to the visit, tasting, dinner and overnight stay, everything was perfect. An exceptional weekend. Thank you

  • Perfect weekend

We had a really perfect weekend. The room at Château de Mole was perfect, as was the welcome and breakfast. The visit and workshop at château de Ferrand, led by sommelier Maria, were a real highlight of this oenological weekend. And the dinner at the Auberge Saint Jean was perfect. In short, I recommend it.

  • September 4 and 5, 2021

4 estates, 4 different visits We started with Château de Ferrand: a blending workshop and a fine tasting, with a guide who was a little full of himself! The visit to the next estate, Château Tour St Christophe, was fairly quick, with a guide who had some difficulty speaking French, but was nevertheless friendly. The 3rd visit to Château du Payre, with dinner and overnight stay, lived up to our expectations, with good wines and a warm welcome (family-run estate). Our last visit to Château du Taillan was by far the richest and most instructive: our guide loves his job and shares it fully. A small downside for Sunday lunch: Brasserie du Golf (good welcome and good food) instead of Restaurant Le Savoie in Margaux (gastronomic with a very fine menu).

  • Stay Chateau de Ferrand

It was too short a stay, so much so that we appreciated everything: the welcome, the setting, the room, the kindness, the tasting, the wines, and all this thanks to the great professionalism of our hosts, who made our stay unforgettable. Thank you so much!

  • Simply PERFECT!

Happy to have placed our trust in Vinotrip for this first wine weekend, my companion and I were blown away by the quality of all the services on offer, and above all by the rich, stimulating and fascinating encounters we made! Anne, our "hostess" at Château de Môle, was incredibly kind, with a naturalness that we couldn't fail to appreciate! Thirty-somethings accustomed to rather "+++" hotels, the Château de Môle has absolutely nothing to envy them! A splendid, modern setting, and all with the naturalness and wholeness we love. What more could you ask for? :-) The rest of our visit just kept on winning us over: our individual visit to Château de Ferrand with Adrien was PASSIONATE! The blending workshop, the tastings, the teaching, the transmission of knowledge in understanding wines, ... everything was simply PERFECT. This weekend, as playful as it was cultural and relaxed as we love it, fulfilled us on every level! So much so that we extended our stay by 1 night! What a pleasure to be offered services of such high quality, without ever feeling we'd been cheated in terms of quality/price. We'll definitely use VINOTRIP again for our next stays. A small additional point concerning 2 restaurants we loved for dinner (and selected separately): L'Envers du Décor , delicious, refined and with special attention for the vegetarian in me (without doubt one of the best tailor-made vegetarian dishes I've ever had).

  • Nice stay

A warm welcome at Chateau de Mole, where the quality of the oenological information and the kindness of the hostess were matched only by the ++ comfort of the spacious, cocooned accommodation. Excellence also for the tasting meal at the Michelin-starred restaurant and the visit to the Château de Ferrand, where we had a wonderful private lesson on how to make a great wine, given by a sommelier who was very knowledgeable about wine. by a very attentive and competent sommelier. There was one downside to this very pleasant stay, however: the wine bar (behind the scenes) was not up to scratch. However, we are delighted with our stay. Thank you for the quality of the organization.

  • - Jeannine and Michel (Lorraine)

Michel and Jeannine (from Lorraine) Very nice stay in Saint-Emilion at Château de Môle. Spacious, comfortable room. Warm welcome. Remarkable tour of the vineyard and cellar, very educational. Charming and competent partners. We appreciated the professionalism and very personal contact of the staff at Château de Ferrand, during the blending workshop and for their kindness and professionalism, which made this tasting with blending the highlight of our stay. Dinner behind the scenes: good service and pleasant setting, well worth the detour. Gastronomic, hearty meal at the Auberge St. Jean, where we were won over by the chef's surprise and the owner's advice. The Michelin star is understandable. Les délices du Roy: ordinary welcome. Thanks to the entire VINOTRIP team. Charming, competent partners. Good organization.

  • Delighted!

Very nice stay in Saint Emilion at Château de Mole. We were delighted with our guest room, which was spacious, charming and comfortable. Our dinner at L'envers du décor on the first evening was incredible! Extremely happy with our blending workshop at Château de Ferrand with Adrien the sommelier. We learned a lot and making our own wine was really fun! We were just a little disappointed that our itinerary showed a second wine tasting on the second day, but it was the same as the day before when we arrived at château de mole, so it didn't happen. It would have been preferable not to note it, so as not to let us think that another tasting was waiting for us. Nevertheless, we're delighted! Thank you Vinotrip.

  • Wines of excellence

We were very pleased with our visit to Château de Ferrand. The owner was on site and introduced herself. We were then guided by the oenologist in charge. Private tour of the cellars, followed by a tasting of several vintages, all excellent. The explanations were very instructive and the person very competent.

    Martine J.

  • Excellent group weekend

I'm back from our weekend in Saint-Emilion. Please accept our congratulations from the group of 15 who were delighted with all the services you booked for us. Everything was perfect. The reception everywhere was excellent. The Château Fleur de Roques offered us a complimentary glass of wine, and the meal was excellent. The blending workshop at Château de Ferrand was very well done, very interesting and the tasting very enjoyable. The meal at L'Envers du Décor was perfect. In short, a very successful weekend. Thanks again for your responsiveness and understanding. Having organized this type of event with the same group for over 30 years, it's VERY RARE to get a travel proposal that corresponds exactly to the request. Yours was PERFECT. If the opportunity arose, I'd be sure to contact you again, and I'd have nothing but praise for you in your VINOTRIP group. Thanks again.

    Jean-Michel C.

  • Very satisfied!

We were perfectly satisfied with our visit and reception at Château de Ferrand. Excellent wines, but a little expensive. Now that's quality! The young oenologist who showed us around the cellars and helped us appreciate the wines was perfect, very pleasant and knowledgeable.

  • stay in Saint-Emilion and the Entre-deux mers region

Very friendly welcome at Château Ferret-Lambert. Excellent stay, except for the weather (heavy rain) calm, nature, high quality wines. Blending workshop at Château de Ferrand very educational and interesting. Tasting recommended. You can really feel that the winegrowers and sommeliers are passionate and proud of their products (entre-deux mers and Saint-Emilion). I recommend the formula and would like to repeat the experience.

    Christian Y.

  • Very satisfied with the services provided!

Château Féret-lambert: very warm welcome, remarkable setting. Château de Ferrand: visit to the cellars, very pleasant tastings, particularly interesting blending of wines (perhaps one small criticism: the plank of charcuterie and cheese offered to accompany the wines was really symbolic: so we went to eat at St Genès Castillon, comptoir Genès). Clos Mirande, gastronomic restaurant: welcome, service, cuisine, all excellent! Visit to Saint-Emilion: fascinating tour, the restaurant "L'envers du décor" is well worth a visit: shady courtyard, friendly welcome, and good food.

    Jean-Luc M.

  • Pleasant weekend

It all started with a visit to the Château de Ferrand with Charly! Perfect visit in his company, someone very professional and very open, it was top! We then headed for Château de Môle, where we were warmly welcomed and our room was superb! No disappointments on the restaurant front, the meal at Auberge Saint Jean was fabulous and full of good surprises. I highly recommend it! Thank you VINOTRIP! Without them, we would have missed out on a lot.

    Sandra B.

  • Satisfied!

The accommodation at Château Fleur de Roques is perfect, even the "h" paper is good quality! At the Auberge St jean it's delicious, but the glass of wine is a little too expensive all the same. At the Château de Ferrand, we'd like to stay, the educator is competent and pleasant, and the wine is good! Behind the scenes is very pleasant. Thank you!

    Jean-Claude B.

  • Enjoy your stay

Good stay in St Emilion, the accommodation at Château de Mole was perfect, the only downside being the proximity of the road. Otherwise, the meals at L'envers du décor and Délices du Roy were very good, but it's a shame that both restaurants are in St Emilion, which means you have to return to the village each time. Special mention to Charlie at Château de Ferrand for his kindness, professionalism and "no-frills" explanations, which made this tasting with assembly the highlight of our stay.

  • Wines produced by the Estate

The Baron Bich family presides over an estate spanning 42 hectares, of which 32 hectares are vineyards. They value the quality of their wine but are also very conscious of the environmental impact of their production. Each plot is analysed and exploited differently based on its individual attributes (soil, grape variety, year of growth…). In addition, herbicides have not been used on any part of the estate for more than a generation now, earning the chateau the title of Terra Vitis. In 2012, the INAO committee awarded the Ferrand Chateau with the title of “Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Emilion”.

The estate produces its wine with great respect for the environment. The chateau has been certified Terra Vitis since 2012 and HVE level 3 since 2018. Within the property, the fauna and flora cohabit in perfect harmony with the vines. In this ecosystem deers, wild boars, migratory birds, hares, and cranes live in the park alongside the bicentennial trees and bees produce honey.

  • Stay at the Chateau

The castle offers you a dream night in one of the 3 prestigious rooms. Every room is in a quiet area with a view on the nature. You can spend a relaxing moment on the terrace, in the living room or at the bar, in a friendly atmosphere "like at home".

The chateau also offers you a gourmet experience at its host table where the private chef prepares a menu around seasonal products.

  • Activities at the property

Adrien, official sommelier of the estate, will take you on a tour of the grounds and the cellars before guiding you through a tasting session of the vintages. Another activity is a wine blending workshop where you will have a specially selected variety of cheese platters and charcuterie plates.
